Recovering a man overboard can be an extremely hazardous operation for both the crew and the casualty, regardless of vessel size. The Jonbuoy Recovery Module is designed to make this a simple operation, whilst increasing vital visibility and buoyancy for the casualty.
JonBuoy is an essential element of the UpSideUp MOB function. Their association allows the immediate and automatic dropping of this survival module and thus increases the chances of fast recovery considerably.
The Jon Buoy remote release module from Ocean Data System allows the Jon Buoy MK6 to be deployed remotely via a simple electrical signal from anywhere on the boat. It's a pneumatic actuator that can be activated either by pressing a simple ‘man overboard’ button or automatically as part of the MOB process of the UpSideUp safety solution or another MOB system.
It requires a compressed air dispenser, which Ocean Data System offers in a basic version with manual inflation (air pump) or with automatic maintenance of operating pressure (mini-compressor).
