SEAir

l’Atlantic 70F, plan Chris White, construit chez Goetz (USA), sera mis à l’eau au printemps 2017: un projet intéressant, sur lequel UpSideUp est chargé, entre autre, de superviser et contrôler les mâts jumeaux parallèles équipés de jauges de contraintes et de capteurs de position;

Ocean Data System newsletter - January 2017

All the Ocean Data System team wishes you
a Happy New Year for 2017!

January is often the time to look back to the past year and to plan new projects for the year starting.

2016 saw the increasing awareness of Ocean Data System, particularly abroad, with the growing presence of our UpSideUp solution, highlighted by our new web site.

2017 will see innovations and developments, with diversification’s opportunities towards new markets and our range’s extension, ... as well as a will to set up a new strategy adapted to the increasing success of our offer of products and services.

Our commitments in terms of quality, reactivity and permanent innovation encourage us to strengthen our organization for our customers’ satisfaction.
We make it a point of honour to deserve your confidence.

We wish you a year rich in opportunities and encounters, with lots of enjoyable and serene sailings  for 2017!

Optic fiber measurements

In 2016, Ocean Data System acquired a new skill on stress and strain measurement, using White-Light Polarization Interferometry (WLPI) technology.
This optical fiber technology is an alternative to the Bragg network, offering many advantages for the "nautical" applications (cost, reliability, integration).
After training on the implementation, the development of the interface between the signal conditioners and the UpSideUp controller, and the application on tensile specimens and on hydrofoils, we offer today a complete service of instrumentation and data logging by optical fiber on composite parts.

ECB : improved textile clutch

The ECB (Enhanced Constrictor® Base) has been unveiled last Fall. It is now under production, and deliveries will start end of February.

This textile blocker completes the actuator range linked to the UpSideUp solution. It can also be used independently for its multiple possibilities of organization, to measure the load on the held rope, or for the remote release driven by an electric signal.
Using the great properties of the Constrictor®, the ECB offers a set of additional features compared to the original device:
· Remote release driven by an electric or electro-pneumatic signal
· Load measurement on the held rope
· Possibility to organize the various elements between themselves
Thanks to the additive manufacturing with a composite carbon material, the ECB is robust as well as extremely light.

SODEBO - Thomas Coville

His performance is just incredible: the world tour within 50 days! Ocean Data System, with the UpSideUp solution installed on-board, is proud to have accompanied Thomas Coville throughout this achievement .
